Now before you think I am here to judge you, let me CATEGORICALLY say now that I am currently struggling with the questions I posed in the title of this article! MY OGA at the TOP understands the details :).Yes, I am not here to straighten you out and point accusing fingers at you after making you feel guilty because yours truly is in the midst of a battle-a mental battle.
So you are free to comment your advice to me in this situation below the article. I deeply appreciate that in advance.
Yes to the article.
Some scenarios bordering on the illegitimate ways desperate people make money these days particularly strike me at the core of my being. They seem to challenge the very essence of morals and ethics. These are the ones I will attempt to share with you guys.
The first is - Conart - the art of deceiving people. Vulnerable, gullible, smart, innocent people.
I would quickly add that ladies are mostly victims of these scammers.
How do they operate? The tell you a sad story about themselves under a false identity and you buy the story hook, line and sinker (you even buy the bait at the end of the sinker!!!). Then your response would be to assist them usually, financially. When you part with your money, once or maybe a several times, and the conartist feels his or her schemes is about to be discovered, they disappear into thin air.
They thrive on ignorance. Trust me I know what I am talking about - I have fallen for one before. They mix with your acquitances and tell them another story about you or themselves and try to earn their trust. Then they strike. The truth is, if you have regular conversations with your acquitances or friends bordering on your dealings with this, this...criminal, their dealings will be exposed very early before they inflict injuries that the victim may never recover from.
A particular recent case comes to mind. On a very popular radio show, the presenter recounted how one of her guests came into the studio on invitation of course, and relayed to her a very gloomy story about being a widower and how he really wanted to find a decent lady to continue life with. He went on to say that he was a financial analyst by profession and that he was living at a particular address. Hmmm...one thing lred to the other and a good comapny of ladies fell in Love with him and were willing to "fill" the void in his heart LAdies!!! See why I believe ladies easily fall prey to these dudes? Well he was able to meet with one of them and and within a very short period told this lady he knew the host of the show that arranged for their meeting for about 4 years! Plus so many other lies that were uncovered. He even made her part with her unsigned cheque book!!! I hope you are not planning to ask me how that happened. So how did the beans get spilled? Communication! This other lady, was talking to the hostess about the guy how she wasn't too comfortable with this guy when she realyed to her what the guy had said about knowing the hostess for about 4 years.
Indeed, these guys thrive on ignorance.
It's a pity that there are vulnerable folks that still fall for these scams.
So the question that begs for an answer is what kind of hunger or lack or deprivation will push a guy or a lady to that extent? Before I forget, he had a lady accomplice. Yeah! Well lets move on to scenario 2.
Once upon a time I was in the company of friend who was driving down a very popular street in the estate where I live. He explained how on his way into the estate much early in the morning, say 4 am, he saw young ladies of different shades and sizes, scantily dressed, littering both sides of the road. Of course they were waiting for male customers to patronize at that time.
Now prostitution has taken different forms these days. Ranging from ladies who have several men friends who they call "Maga" in Nigerian parlance or you may know as Sugar Daddy.
Female marketers who have to yield to their male clients or vice versa so that the client may patronize their business and so they can meet their target for the month and hopefully get a raise or get promoted.
Hmmmm...it even gets more pathetic.
Politicians and business men who have lots of money to spend, arrange for bus drivers to go to universities and pick girls young enough to be their grand daughters to entertain them at wild parties.
Still bordering on sexual matters, young girls are trafficked either with or without parental approval. Whether the girl gives her consent or not, she is kidnapped to an unknown location and made to sleep with as many as 20 men a daay for outrageously small amounts of money. This is happening both within Nigeria and outdside Nigeria. Surely we must have heard of the "Italian Connection"
Now which of these have YOU considered in the past or are even considering presently? It's not news that whatever we do now is a seed and will produce harvest in future. Men who defile people's daughters should not forget that they too have daughters. Prostitues who by their actions are breaking homes and heart should remember that one day they will desire to have a family or theirs. Same goes for ladies who feel comfortable dating married men. While you attempt to answer the question, let me look for a way to hit some extra bucks without hurting someone else in the process.
Indeed that's what ultimately matters-the end should not justify the means.
Enjoy.
